#SummerOrangeCrew Goes to a Minnesota United FC Game

Last night, the #SummerOrangeCrew journeyed 30 minutes by car to Blaine to see Minnesota United FC compete against the Jacksonville Armada. Minnesota United competes in the North American Soccer League NASL which is the second tier of professional soccer here in the U.S. This was the first Minnesota United game for any of us in the Crew. The introduction to the soccer club could not have been any better.

There was plenty of action in the game including a first half red card for one of the Jacksonville Players, a second half ejection for the Jacksonville coach, and four goals and a shutout for Minnesota United (three of the goals happened at our end of the field so we got to see some awesome play up close and personal). Minnesota United controlled most of the game and dominated the scoreboard.

Aside from the soccer match, there was plenty of other entertainment at the stadium. Food trucks, a whacky half time performance involving playing soccer while inside giant inflatable bubbles, and the constant chanting and cheering from the Dark Clouds supporter section really made the stadium atmosphere enjoyable and fun. Let’s not forget the team mascot, the Loon, taking selfies with fans around the stadium!

This is yet another incredible experience that the Twin Cities area has to offer. Needless to say, I had a great time at the match and have discovered a new favorite sports team to support here in the Twin Cities. Come on, you Loons! Minnesota black and blue!
